Process:
The Icarus font is a display font that takes a subtractive approach to letter creation rather than a more usual additive method. Each letter and number began with the same positive form and the same negative form was applied to each on varying scale and angle in order to create the requisite letterforms. The font pushes the readability of the letterforms and asks the viewer to consider the norms of letterforms in general.
